OS X Daily 3

One of the things we can do is become real experts in one area of technology so that if we have questions in that area we can answer them ourselves. But the problem is that we’re lucky if we have the time to become a real expert in one area, let alone any more than one – it’s infinitely more likely that questions have arisen for us in areas in which we are not experts. For these we need help from those who are experts in those areas.

It seems to us that OS X Daily is for those who wish to become real experts in things Apple And for that they may or may not be good, we just don’t know – we haven’t had time to study any of the more than 700 information items we’ve received from them and just put in a mailbox.

But it doesn’t seem as though they’re any good for those who want help with questions on particular matters.

You’d think the two would go together – but, having emailed them the question set out in this post, and having not received any response, it would seem clear that this is not the case.

As we’ve mentioned, OS X Daily claims to be about

But it seems that if you have questions that may be answered by any of the hundreds and hundreds of “News and Tips” they provide, you’re on your own either to find them yourself, or to find someone to help you.

Several things about this have us puzzled. You’d think it would be in Apple’s interests to do the job that OS X Daily claims to be doing!!!???. And furthermore to have people doing the job that OS X Daily ISN’T doing!!!???. But we are largely left on our own in our efforts to make the best use of their products, left to try and “muddle through.” Which brings us to the subject of the Apple Genius Bars, about which more later.
